Be A Friend

BE A FRIEND

According to the U.S. Department of Education, 1 in 10 school aged children have a disability. That gives 9 out of 10 kids a daily opportunity to learn about diversity, collaboration, inclusion and friendship. Students with disabilities are like all children, they want friends, they want to feel respected, and they want to be included. It’s important to focus on things we have in common but understand and celebrate our differences.

Conversation Starters

The best way to "Be a Friend" is to put down the phone and TALK to someone face-to-face. But let's be honest, it's not always easy to think of what to ask. Surprisingly, the easier the question, the more you can learn about others!
